The Readerships and Personal Chairs Committee of the University of Sheffield has conferred on Nancy Devlin the title of Honorary Professor of Health Economics, linked to the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR). Nancy is Director of Research at the Office of Health Economics.
Her principal areas of research expertise are the measurement and valuation of patient reported health outcomes; the cost effectiveness thresholds used in making judgments about value for money in health care; priority setting in health care; production, performance and efficiency of hospitals; and the determinants of patient choice.
Nancy comments, “I am absolutely delighted – and very honoured – to have this association with the University of Sheffield, and with ScHARR. I look forward to working with colleagues in Sheffield to further develop our existing collaborations in research on patient reported outcomes, valuing quality of life, MCDA methods, and on other topics of mutual interest”.
