HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

New and updated Cochrane Reviews highlighted on their website in March are:
  • Vaccines for preventing influenza in healthy adults
  • Peginterferon alpha-2a versus peginterferon alpha-2b for chronic hepatitis C
  • Endometriosis: an overview of Cochrane Reviews
  • Antibiotics for acute bronchitis
  • Gloves, extra gloves or special types of gloves for preventing percutaneous exposure injuries in healthcare personnel
  • Psychological therapies (Internet-delivered) for the management of chronic pain in adults
  • Buprenorphine maintenance versus placebo or methadone maintenance for opioid dependence
  • Decision aids for people facing health treatment or screening decisions
  • Family and carer smoking control programmes for reducing children's exposure to environmental tobacco smoke
  • Inhaled steroids and risk of pneumonia for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
