The University of Sheffield is looking to recruit a Senior Researcher (Grade 9 - Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor scale, £47,787 to £53,765 per annum) to contribute to the strategic development of the Sheffield Alcohol Research Group in ScHARR (http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/scharr/sections/ph/research/alpol.html).

The Sheffield Alcohol Research Group is a multidisciplinary team working across both the Public Health section and the Health Economics and Decision Science section in ScHARR. The postholder should have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject for example, psychology, social sciences, public health, epidemiology, economics, statistics, or similar and a developing track record of publications. For appointment at the Senior Research Fellow level you should have led or contributed to successful grant proposals, managed several grants and have experience of collaborative working and impact generation. Interested candidates who fulfil the general skills profile and are ambitious to achieve this level of responsibility and impact within the next two years, but are currently less experienced, are encouraged to apply for appointment as Research Fellow.

The post is for three years initially, but it is expected that the postholder will be able to generate funding to support their post beyond this period. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me to discuss informally: Prof Petra Meier, p.meier@sheffield.ac.uk. There is also a detailed job specification on http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/jobs/. The closing date will be the 17th February with interviews in mid-March.
