HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

Systematic review short courses

HEDS is running two short course on systematic reviewing.  Tutors are all experienced HTA researchers.  They are:

Planning, Costing and Managing your Systematic Review (PaniCMaSteR)
12th April 2013

Whether you are conducting commissioned research, a review for your PhD, or surveying methodological developments in your discipline a major challenge is managing the logistics of the systematic review process. This short course draws on expertise from successfully conducting over 50 funded reviews for a variety of purposes and with a range of published outputs. The Course Team has developed tools for planning and costing systematic reviews for research and consultancy and has produced guidelines for managing the review process which will form the basis of this very practical and interactive workshop.

The ScHARR Systematic Review Course; Practical skills for undertaking reviews
17th to 19th July 2013

The aim of this three day course is to provide participants with an introduction to methods for conducting systematic reviews in health care. Sessions will be delivered by ScHARR staff experienced in systematic review methods. The course will be interactive and practical, with delivery of sessions based on lectures and individual and small group practical exercises.
