We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Health Economics and Decision Modelling in Low and Middle Income Countries. The post is within the Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) section of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR). This is an exciting opportunity to work on modelling and economic evaluations of interventions to improve approaches to finding and treating children with tuberculosis (TB) in high-burden settings. The work will evaluate a number of multi-country clinical trials in sub-Saharan Africa as part of a UNITAID funded project, in partnership with institutions in trial countries,
Université de Bordeaux, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
The successful applicant will have experience of undertaking economic evaluations, excellent modelling and statistical programming skills, a history of effective communication across multidisciplinary projects and a PhD in a relevant area. This 3-year post builds on ScHARR’s track record of excellence in economic evaluation, and is part of a growing interest in global health. It is an opportunity to someone with expertise in decision modelling in high-income settings to develop a track record of applying these skills to global health, while working in one of the leading departments in the country for health economics
and intervention evaluation.
You will primarily be working with Dr Pete Dodd and Prof Simon Dixon in ScHARR, but also with the trialists for the CaP TB and TB-SPEED Projects, and a wider paediatric tuberculosis modelling and economics team beyond Sheffield, across the projects.
