HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

New HEDS Director of Learning and Teaching

We are delighted to announce that Claire Beecroft has replaced Dr Phil Shackley as our new Director of Learning and Teaching for HEDS. As a University Teacher, Claire has been very involved in HEDS teaching for sometime leading on our MOOCs and Masters level courses. 

 Claire brings a wealth of experience to the post and said; "I am delighted to be taking over the role of Section Director of Learning and Teaching from Dr Shackley. I joined ScHARR as part of the Information Resources team and over my 14 years here I have gradually taken on more and more responsibility for teaching. I have worked on range of projects providing free online courses (MOOCs) and specialised online professional development programme for pharma professionals. Its been a time of great change at the university as we have recently adopted lecture capture across campus and are also being supported to deliver more and more multimedia learning materials using the new Kaltura platform." 

 "As Section DLT I hope to help HEDS and ScHARR push forward with our online programmes and improve and innovate in the ways we deliver and support learning, and to help ScHARR develop its reputation as a leading provider of high quality online programmes in HE both in the UK and internationally."
