HEDS are on the road again and travelling to Glasgow with many ScHARR colleagues attending the ISPOR 20th Annual European Congress, from the 3rd-8th November. We have an extensive academic programme, delivering workshops, presentations and posters throughout the five days, starting with a pre-conference workshop by Dr Paul Tappenden on ‘Development of conceptual models’. Other highlights include
  • Professor John Brazier is presenting at an Issue Panel on ‘Determining Value in HTA Consistent with societal aims: pursue new options?’
  • Roberta Ara is presenting on some early thoughts on synthesis in ‘Health State Utility Identification and use in cost-effectiveness decision modelling – an ISPOR task force’
  • Professor Allan Wailoo who will be delivering a workshop asking; ‘EQ-5D: Is NICE ready for the next level?’
  • Dr Monica Hernandez will run a short course on ‘Mapping to estimate utility values from non-preference based outcome measures’
  • Dr Donna Rowen is part of a panel session on the topic of ‘Valuing children’s HRQoL for health technology assessment: What are the issues and challenges?

ScHARR HEDS will also be represented in the sponsors exhibition. Please come along and meet ScHARR’s Director of IKT, Dr Suzy Paisley and the IKT business team, Vanessa Wright and Stephanie Bryson. It will be a great way to find out about opportunities to work with ScHARR to support key strategic developments in your organisation, to collaborate with us on research and to participate in our diverse, world class learning and teaching programmes. Call in at stand number 314 or contact us ahead of the conference to arrange a meet up. You can also follow us on Twitter @ScHARR_IKT
