New Director of Consultancy

HEDS has great pleasure in welcoming a new member of staff to its ranks. We welcome Phil Carver to the position of Director of Innovation and Knowledge Transfer. Phil will continue the work of strategic and operational leadership of knowledge transfer activities and client engagement across ScHARR. Phil will also be involved in delivering teaching on postgraduate and short courses whilst continuing his research interests in fluid overload assessment and management in heart failure patients.

Phil has moved to ScHARR from Kingston and St Georges, University of London where he was Associate Professor for Workforce Development and Innovation. Working across Faculty, Phil was responsible for all knowledge transfer activities with private and public sector engagement, whilst also holding the role of Director of postgraduate programmes in the School of Rehabilitation.

In his new role at ScHARR, Phil is keen to maximise the impact of the School’s research by making use of its knowledge and skills base to carry out consultancy for, and transfer knowledge and innovation into, industry and health and social care providers and commissioners. Phil is also interested in the development of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, a part government-funded programme to encourage collaboration with businesses to improve their competitiveness, having successfully embedded this within two previous Schools of health research.
