HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

NICE Guideline consultation

The first edition of a manual for developing all NICE guidelines (as opposed to technology appraisals) is now available in draft form. Registered NICE stakeholders, members of NICE guideline development committees, and members of the public are invited to comment on the provisional manual.  The consultation closes on 30th June 2014.

Key sections for HEDS are:
  • Identifying the evidence: literature searching and evidence submission
  • Reviewing research evidence  
  • Incorporating economic evaluation
