The China National Health Development Research Center has started work that will lead to the development of China's health technology assessment mechanism.  The work is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and is in collaboration with the Global Health Policy Unit at Imperial College London.  The project was launched in Beijing on the 16th January.

The project is evaluating three areas of policy HPV, PCV and TB as the pilot studies.  Professor Simon Dixon from the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) was invited to the meeting to discuss HTA processes and review the modelling already undertaken relating to TB.
