HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

Work with PRICELESS

Professor Karen Hofman, Director of Priority Cost Effective Lessons for Systems Strengthening in South Africa (PRICELESS), recently visited HEDS.  Karen gave a talk to the Sheffield Institute for International Development (SIID) titled "Progress and challenges in implementing Health Technology Assessment and Public Health Economics in LMICs: the experience in South Africa”.

Collaborative work on several topics with Karen and Alex Winch are underway or planned, including; cost-effectiveness of taxanes for breast cancer, cost-effectiveness of Implenon, developing a utility tariff for South Africa and curriculum development at the University of Witwatersand.
