Professor Hufeng Wang (Department of Health Reform and Development Center (HRDC) at Remin University China) and Jing Wang-Silvanto (Director of Value Access Strategy, WG Access) came to HEDS recently. HRDC was founded in 2007 by Professor Wang and is the top Think Tank for the Chinese government and Prof. Wang is the main advisor on healthcare system reform in China. The HRDC focuses on two areas: healthcare system and hospital performance evaluation and health technology assessment (HTA). HRDC has established long-term working relationship with NICE, via various conferences in China and UK.Professors Simon Dixon and Ben van Hout discussed several research and teaching opportunities. As well as talking about our MSc International Health Technology Assessment, Pricing & Reimbursement, MSc Health Economics and Decision Modelling, MSc Economics and Health Economics and Masters in Public Health, we discussed Renmin's plans for a bi-lingual (Chinese/English) HTA web portal. Several ideas for collaboration are currently being pursued.
