HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

Network meta-analysis in non-NICE HTA

Identified by the the CEA Registry Blog is one of the growing number of examples of NMA being used in comparative effectiveness research.  Whilst this approach is widely undertaken by NICE, its use is rare outside that for reimbursement decisions.  However, the application identified by the CEA registry - “Potential Role of Network Meta-Analysis in Value-Based Insurance Design” which relates osteoporosis  - does not link the results to a cost-effectiveness analysis.
