Research Associate in Health Economics

A two year post is available in HEDS.  The post is to provide health economics support on a range of applied research projects funded primarily through the Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN, http://www.yhahsn.org.uk/). The work will primarily be economic evaluations, particularly early evaluations of medical devices and other innovations. All of the work will require close liaison with a range of staff in the NHS and industry, including clinicians, business managers and technicians.

Specific approaches used, as part of these projects, include problem structuring, decision analytic modelling, utility assessment, research design and statistical analysis. Whilst a working knowledge of methods for the economic evaluation of health technologies is essential, specific knowledge and expertise in early stage economic evaluations and/or ‘headroom analysis’ is also desirable.
