HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

New and updated Cochrane Reviews highlighted on their website this month are:
  • Interventions to reduce haemorrhage during myomectomy for fibroids
  • Drugs for treating urinary schistosomiasis
  • Structural and community-level interventions for increasing condom use to prevent the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections
  • Antibiotics for acute pyelonephritis in children
  • Topical antifungal treatments for tinea cruris and tinea corporis
  • Preoperative carbohydrate treatment for enhancing recovery after elective surgery
  • Computer-assisted surgery for knee ligament reconstruction
