A farewell drink or two was consumed by friends, family and colleagues to celebrate Ron’s 20 years at the University of Sheffield, including 17 years as the Dean of ScHARR. In his time at the University, ScHARR grew from one (Ron) to over 200 staff, with the grande finale being the School topping the 2008 UK Research Power league table for Health Services Research.
Whilst technically a retirement – he now holds an Emeritus Professorship – Ron is anticipating carrying on his work outside the University. So it is farewell for now, until we meet again in a bar close to the next ISPOR meeting venue.
