Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Newsletter

The February edition of the University’s Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Newsletter has been published.  Among the many research items, one HEDS and one ScHARR item caught my eye.

First, an evaluation of the NHS 111 telephone service - including its cost impacts -  has concluded with a final report now available reporting the work of Janette Turner, Alicia O’Cathain, Emma Knowles, Jon Nicholl, Jon Tosh, Fiona Sampson, Patricia Coleman and Joanne Coster.

Second, statisticians from the Medical Statistics Group in ScHARR – Steven Julious, Ben Sully and Laura Flight – have developed a free phone App to assist in the design of clinical trials.

Further details of these and other stories are available from the newsletter.
