NICE reviews its Guide to the methods of technology appraisal

This month sees the start of the process to review NICE’s Guide to the methods of technology appraisal.  Six workshops will inform discussions by a working party that is to be chaired by Andrew Stevens.  The topics that will be discussed in the workshops are:

Perspective of economic evaluations (10 October 2011)
Structured decision making (31 October 2011)
Informing patient/carer evidence submissions (14 November 2011)
Measuring and valuing health (28 November 2011)
QALY weighting (8 December 2011)
Equity and equalities (11 January 2012)

Invitations to workshops are strictly on the basis of nomination. Final delegates will be approached directly by NICE or the DSU.  It is expected that the revised draft will be available for a 3 month public consultation in June 2012.
