HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

New pharmaceutical and medical technology post at HEDS

HEDS have created an exiciting and unique academic post that focuses on HTA research with pharmaceutical and medical technology manufacturers.  Available as either a Research Fellow  or Senior Research Fellow, the post is available for 3 years in the first instance.  A summary of the post is below, however, full details are available via the University’s job page; the job reference number is UOS003177.

“You will lead research and consultancy as part of the Health Economic and Decision Science (HEDS) research and consultancy programmes. The work programme of HEDS involves health technology appraisal, policy appraisal, analysis of complex datasets and methodological development to support the appraisal process. You will liaise with pharmaceutical and medical technology manufacturers to identify research needs and develop research projects relating to evidence review and synthesis, outcomes measurement and cost-effectiveness analysis. You will be expected to project manage providing expert advice to the project teams within HEDS and disseminate findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Experience of conducting research relating to health technology appraisal and a post-graduate qualification (or equivalent) in a subject related to the methods of health technology assessment is essential. As a Senior Research Fellow you would be expected to have experience of designing and developing health related research and a track record of successful grant applications.”
