The University of Sheffield (TUOS) held a Medical Device and Healthcare Technologies Industry Open Day on the 30th June. Speakers included HEDS own Simon Dixon, Mark Hawley (ScHARR) and world leading TUOS pure science researchers in the area of interventional cardiology, tissue engineering, biomaterials and electrical engineering. Simon’s talk covered methods of technology assessment including three case studies of economic evaluation relating to medical technologies in development that HEDS have undertaken.
Developed by TUOS Knowledge Transfer staff, the day offered a chance for biotech and academic researchers to discuss possible collaborations. There are several funding opportunities for industry collaborations via TUOS (here).
