HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

New projects in the last month

The following projects either started or their proposals were accepted in the last month:

Magnetic resonance imaging to enhance the diagnosis of fetal developmental brain abnormalities in utero (MERIDIAN).  The project is led by Professor PD Griffiths, Academic Unit of Radiology, University of Sheffield.  The economic evaluation is being undertaken by Allan Wailoo.

Hypertonic Saline in Acute Bronchiolitis: Randomised Controlled Trial and Economic Evaluation (SABRE).  The project is led by Professor Mark Everard Department of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine Sheffield Children's Hospital.  The economic evaluation is being undertaken by Simon Dixon.

The REPOSE (Relative Effectiveness of Pumps over MDI and Structured Education) Trial.  The project is led by Professor Simon Heller, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  The economic evaluation is being undertaken by Alan Brennan, Jen Kruger, Praveen Thokala, Patrick Fitzgerald and Simon Dixon.
