HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

Roundtable discussion at the 2nd China HTA Conference

Professor Simon Dixon was part of the panel for a roundtable discussion on the Meaning of Value-based Healthcare at the 2nd China HTA Conference in Beijing.  The Conference, from 26th-27th October 2019, was held at the China National Convention Center, Beijing.  It was hosted by the China National Health Developent Research Center.

The panel was chaired by Professor Xie Feng of McMaster University and included Professor Lou Garrison, Professor Chris Bojke, Professor Andrea Manca and Dr Cynthia Iglesias.  Topics raised included the purpose of value frameworks, their consideration of opportunity cost, the role of structured deliberation, the role of qualitative data and pros and cons of MCDA.
