HEDS is part of the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield. We undertake research, teaching, training and consultancy on all aspects of health related decision science, with a particular emphasis on health economics, HTA and evidence synthesis.

New staff in HEDS

Over the last few months we’ve had a lot of new starters to work on our growing work programme.  They are:
  • Declan O’Byrne….who is a health economist and will be working on SHAREHD Health Foundation project
  • Becky Pennington….who is a health economist and will be working as part of the NICE DSU.
  • Paolo Mazzone….who is a health outcomes researcher and will be working on the EUSCREEN project.
  • Rachel Hatton….who is a health economist and will be working on various economic evaluations
  • Laura Webster….who is on a HEDM Studentship and will be working on developing a public health economic model to assess policies/interventions relating to tobacco and alcohol.
  • Julie Johnson….who is a project administrator and will be working on the MRC Extending the QALY project.
  • Amanda Lane….who is a theme administrator and will be working on for The Yorkshire and Humber CLAHRC.
  • Vicki Welch….who is a project administrator and will be working on our Health Foundation and ReQoL projects
  • Geoff Holmes….who is a decision analytic modeller and will be working on the  research project 'Bridging the age gap in breast cancer: Improving outcomes for older women'.
  • Tara Wickramasekera….who is a health service researcher and will be working on our vascular surgery research programme.
