NHS England is proposing to close down some specialist CHD services and concentrate activity on a small number of hospitals. Hospitals losing include
- Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust
- University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust
- Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
- Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust
- Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust
These changes are mainly due to failure to meet new national service standard, including minimum number of procedures for a surgeon. Further details are available
